Photo Essay

Word: Go

I took this picture on my phone while walking the streets of George Town. Since my group had the word go I wanted to take a picture that showed fast movement. If I had just taken a picture of a still car, that could imply movement but I wanted to make it seem as if it was moving in a still picture. To take this picture turned my camera to face the front of the ambulance and then as it sped down the street, I followed it with my camera on shutter until I could no longer see the ambulance

Deciding on what picture was difficult at first. When I first looked through my series of photos I skipped over this one and only looked for photos that were blurred entirely. I did not use any of those because they were blurred to the point where a person may not be able to make out the photo. When I went back and looked closely, I found that I ended up liking this photograph.

There reason why I like this photograph is because it gives a sense of emergency because if the the bright lights and all the red that is surrounding it. Also in the photo the ambulance is clear and the rest if the photo is blurred. It portrays the fast pace I wanted because it makes it seem that the ambulance is moving through the cars very fast while everything else is a the same steady pace. For this photo I just cropped out some of the street so that the main focus is on the ambulance. I also added a filter called fade. What the fade did was it enhanced the lights and the red color but softened the other colors around it.
